2025
RECAP
What a year! This season unfolded with all the excitement we could have hoped for. Dawsons Gold and Limara continued to demonstrate their abilities in FEI-rated classes. While "DG" maintained his reputation as the resident speed demon, "Limmy" answered with polished, confident trips that landed her among the best. Even though we love these superstars, our barn also hosts a robust and talented group of young horses, - which gives us a lot to look forward to. One prospect in particular has us mesmerized. Flexible's sweet and spicy seven-year-old granddaughter, Fortside Candy Flex, showed us her flashy form isn't reserved for small fences. She began the year in 1.10m Open Jumper classes and finished her season with a string of wins and two champion ribbons in the 7YO division (1.30m - 1.35m) at Desert Horse Park. As the jumps got higher, she maintained her naturally round jumping style with ease. We are proud of her progress, thrilled for her future, and convinced she is rubbing off on her teammates. Scroll down for more young horse highlights. At home, our program grew to host over 20 horses and one promising Flexible foal, Cocoflex (also known as "Farley"). We now have a total of five Flexible offspring in the stable. After learning alongside his father's renowned stallion and having developed one of Flexible's offspring into an FEI-level Grand Prix horse, Chris is acutely equipped to understand and train Flexible's famously complex and wildly intelligent offspring. Chris has learned through experience that mutual respect, consistency - in care and training -, proper activity levels, varied experiences, and a genuine bond turn these tricky geniuses into quick, clever, and unstoppable competitors. As this program continues to evolve, we hope to welcome many more Flexible foals to Generations. Individually, from the Desert Circuit in February to the Sunshine series in November, Chris accumulated 66 top-three placings, averaging 2.64 wins per competition week. According to the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking list, Chris is the top-ranked rider in Oregon. Every year, our goal is simple: growth. Every day is an opportunity to become better riders and horse(wo)men. We are proud to report our whole team exceeded expectations.

"It's easier to go down a hill than up it, but the view is much better at the top."
- Henry Ward Beecher

Over the course of 2025, Chris rose in the national rankings. He began with a ranking of 200-something and, by September - after he and Dawsons Gold won the FEI CSI2* GP in Thunderbird -, he reached 68th in the United States and maintained his position as the top-ranked rider in Oregon.

Dawsons Gold
This little chestnut spent the year proving to his teammates and competitors that size means nothing when a horse loves the sport and his rider. Our 15.3hh Irish gelding and son of Flexible took home the in-barn Breadwinner Award after more than doubling his earnings from 2024. His highlight was winning the FEI CSI2* Grand Prix at Thunderbird by over 2.5 seconds. Watch Clip My Horse's coverage of his JO. He also enjoyed his little streak at Temecula in the Spring where he won 60% of the classes he finished (three wins) and was second in the $50K Grand Prix.

Limara
Relatively new to the 1.55m+ courses, Limara continued to gain confidence in the GP ring. Her biggest accomplishment was her double clear fourth-place finish in the $75K FEI CSI3* 1.50m GP at Thunderbird.

"Do you know what? [Limara] likes jumping at speed! She was just showing all her scope and ability."
"This pair blazed through the jump-off in 35.15s - more than 2.5 seconds faster than the runner-up - to win the $62,500 FEI CSI2* GP at the BCHJA Fall Finale. An incredible performance worth reliving..."
