At Generations, we support riders who are serious about improvement, grounded in horsemanship, and committed to doing things well. Our barn is built for those who value their education, their horse's care, and long-term excellence.

Who Thrives Here

This program is designed for riders who are:

  • Motivated and accountable

  • Coachable and respectful

  • Deeply invested in their horse's wellbeing

  • Competitive yet humble

  • Focused on progress, not shortcuts

At present, many of our students are ambitious adult amateurs, aspiring professionals, and active professionals.

An Equine-centric™ Philosophy

Our approach begins and ends with the horse. Soundness, confidence, and longevity are not compromises. They are prerequisites for success at the highest levels of show jumping. Training is individualized, thoughtful, and progressive. Decisions are made in the best interest of the horse and the partnership.

Atmosphere

When you walk into the barn, it feels calm, professional, and focused. Standards are high, objectives are clear, and the work is intentional. As riders connect over shared interests, experiences, triumphs, and learning moments, you might hear laughter erupt from the cross-ties. Meanwhile, horses bob their heads in and out of their stalls, greeting passersby and socializing with their neighbors. Our staff members are almost always on the move, ensuring every horse is treated with consistency and care. The tone is serious without being heavy - driven without being loud.

Equestrian students at Generations Show Jumping in Oregon smile after a riding lesson

"When I walk into the barn, it's my happy place - everyone working together, serious when on horseback, but a sense of fun when off... Our horses grow and thrive in the environment."

Standards

We operate with the expectations of a high-performance program. This translates into:

  • Meticulous horse care

  • Prepared, punctual riders

  • Respectful conduct in the barn and at competitions

  • Attention to detail in daily work

Excellence is not occasional. It is habitual.

Verified Results

Many hunter jumper barns use superlatives to imply the quality of their program. We prefer to be specific and transparent. As a wise man once said, "The proof is in the pudding." Our progress is consistent and our results are competitive.

These numbers reflect talent and a proven process: careful development, thoughtful training, and respect for the sport at every level.

Experience at the Highest Level

Generations' head coach, Chris Fellers, was primarily trained by his parents and spent years working under them, gaining first-hand experience in the demands of top-level international sport. His father, Rich Fellers, competed in 9 World Cup Finals - most notably placing second in 2008 and winning in 2012 - and represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games. That foundation influences how we train, how we live, and how we measure success. This is a time-tested, proven system that has elevated Chris from an aspiring professional to a respected FEI-level competitor.

We believe mastery is quiet, disciplined, and - most importantly - never finished. Our students, coaches, and staff are all forever students of the horse and this sport.
